Force of Nature is a non-profit organization working to stop fossil fuel expansion and promote climate solutions throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. We are seeking a passionate and experienced fundraising professional develop a long term revenue strategy and raise funds for renewable energy projects, environmental advocacy campaigns, and election organizing programs.

Job Description: Reporting to the Director, the Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing the organization’s revenue strategy. Job duties include:

  • Work with the Director to develop and execute a long term fund development strategy for Force of Nature.

  • Create web content, brochures, fundraising letters and other support materials, as required by the fundraising strategy

  • Set up a monthly giving program and recruit FON supporters to become participants.

  • Effectively fundraise from Force of Nature supporter list through e-mails, phone calls, and in-person meetings.

  • Identify and apply for grants.

  • Identify and effectively fundraise from major donors, unions and corporate sponsors.

  • Steward donor relations and manage donor appreciation

  • Oversee administration of all fundraising activities, including managing monthly donor program, grant reporting, and maintaining donor data in Force of Nature database.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum two years fundraising experience required. Experience with community organizing and electoral campaigning is an asset.

  • Knowledge, passion and experience around environmental and political issues. Ability to develop your understanding of complex concepts and adapt to changing circumstances on an ongoing basis. A sincere desire to affect progressive change and commitment to the Force of Nature mission and vision are required.

  • Self direction, creativity, and the ability to develop and execute outcome-oriented plans with explicit goals, targets and metrics. Ability to thrive in a data-driven culture: willingness to experiment, challenge yourself, and learn from failure in order to achieve explicit outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, ability to work as part of a team, strong verbal communication skills and the ability to mentor and train others.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
